First ship called at Gemadept Dungquat Int’l Port

After nearly two years of construction, overcoming many difficulties of  geological terrain,  the Port is now basically completing main quays, installation of handling equipments and will complete the auxiliary items soonest. Maritime Safety Company has issued  a "marine notice” and Vinamarine (Vietnam National Marine Administration) has also issued a license for port operation on 17/Dec/2008.  
 
  The shipment which has 435 packages with nearly 5,000M3 on Tian Xing, including  heavy equipments of 40 tons and over 30 meter length was discharged  safely and successfully within 40 hours as per port operation procedures.  Basing on port capacity and thanks to smooth co-operation of related sections, the shipment  was not only unloaded quickly but also delivered into customer door at their required place. Therefore, 5000m3 OOG cargo of that ship was transported by road to Doosan  Steel Factory on 25 Dec 2008 successfully.

In such a situation of sky-rocketing price of steel and building materials in 2007, 2008 and other local difficulties in Quang Ngai Province, the construction completion of the port is a great success of Gemadept Corporation this year. Gemadept Dungquat Int’l’Port, which is strongly supported by Gemadept Corporation Terminal-Shipping- Logistics chain service network, will become an important im-ex gateway for Dungquat economic zone and Central  Vietnam. The new port will greatly benefit  customers in this area after its inauguration  in early  2009.
