| Gemadept Corporation & “Understanding The Heart” charity program “Understanding the heart” charity program was launched in Aug/2010 with two main sponsors Gemadept and Mercedes-Benz Vietnam together with other companies, televisions, broadcasting companies, etc. The program aims at introducing the book named “Understanding the heart” to the youth and their parents and also mobilizes the budget of heart surgery for poor children as well as for difficult and unfortunate ones in Vietnam
In 5 months of operation, lecturer Chi Bao – Director of the program, famous actors, actresses, singers and representative of Gemadept – Mr Nguyen Thanh Tinh have been proceeding their trips to universities, cultural centers in Ho Chi Minh city with various topics and have received warm welcomes as well as hearty responses from thousands of students and young people.

Until now thanks to the profit from the selling of 27,000 books and that from individuals, sponsors and entrepreneurs, Understanding the heart charity association has collaborated with Heart Beat Vietnam – VinaCapital Foundation to carry out the heart surgeries for 100 children including 78 successful cases and tentative 22 ones by the end of 2010. Moreover, the program has contributed 200 million dongs and 1,000 books to the “Children Heart” program of Thanh nien newspaper and also cooperated with Operation Smile Organization to surgically operate palate for 6 unfortunate children. In August 2010, the program with coordination with the People’s Committee of District 3 conducted the program “Loving Mid-autumn Festival” to donate 700 presents to poor and disabled children in district 3.
At 18:00 p.m on 16 December 2010 the 1st summing-up ceremony of “Understanding the heart” charity program during 2010 – 2015 was held at White Palace, Hochiminh City to appreciate partners, sponsors, actors, actresses, benefactors, etc who have been with the program during the past time.
